| Ricky Stator now offers high performance tie-rod kits for the Yamaha The new tie-rod kits consist of a tie-rod end that is like the Honda OEM but has the tapered stud that fits PERFECTLY into the Yamaha spindle assembly. The tie-rods are made of solid 17-4 stainless steel. They are then heat treated at H-900 (900 degrees) for a Rockwell hardness of approximately C43, this is why the brownish color of the rods. If you wish you can buff the tie-rods for the shiny stainless looks if you prefer. We left them the brownish color so you may see they are in fact heat treated. The threads are rolled on as are Honda OEM but our shaft size is larger being 1/2 inch in diameter. Rolled threading is much stronger than cut threads. The flat for holding the tie-rod is not machined but pressed with a die as are the OEM Honda. The threaded portion of the tie-rods are 2 1/2" long for any cutting you may choose to do for unique applications. |
